Mission Statement
ART CRUSH | Ensembl’arts interprets a story or idea through the multifaceted lens of sound, image, and movement.
Art Crush | Ensembl’arts is a dynamic cultural organization that merges music, dance, and visual arts into immersive performance experiences. Founded in Montreal in 2013, our multidisciplinary ensemble pioneers innovative productions through rigorous research, collaborative workshops, and exploratory rehearsals. These processes cultivate profound interconnections between artistic disciplines. The resulting performances manifest as a vibrant exchange of movement, sound, emotion, and expression, where each art form inspires and transforms the others in a captivating cycle of creative interpretation.
We are committed to community engagement, arts education, and delivering exceptional performances across Quebec, Canada, and internationally. By reimagining traditional concerts with a unique fusion of artistic expressions, we provide audiences with fresh perspectives and deeper appreciation for diverse repertoires.
Values
Our collaboration highlights equal performance space for each of the three disciplines involved; there is no hierarchy of the arts in our multidisciplinary projects. This visual representation of equal involvement between disciplines is important as it reflects how the work was created and embodies the exploratory approach that Ensembl’arts brings to each new work.
This equal involvement is mirrored throughout our collaborative process as we intertwine artist talks and feedback sessions between the composer, musicians, dancers and visual artists so that creative input comes from many sources. Each member within the ensemble is called to work together with an openness of mind and spirit, a willingness to experiment in new performance formats in collaboration with artists from different artistic backgrounds and training.
The values of our founders and team include a good remuneration for all artists and technicians, according to or above fee schedules set by CARFAC, GMMQ and RAAV. Groupe Ensembl’arts has a diverse board and team from a range of economic and cultural backgrounds.
Through our work, we strive to create successful arts economies in Canada, contributing towards an arts ecosystem that will employ and inspire our next generations.
